Xemnas hummed softly as two more portals opened, one had the other members, who scattered around in interest as to why they were called off their missions for this sudden gathering. The second portal housed the Academic as he looked back, watching the replica try to shoulder Emily as she limped through.
Saix tried to ignore her as she let out a pained yelp when her foot connected with a purposefully held out leg by the Graceful Assassin who apparently held a weird grudge against the girl for reasons unknown, “Sit down and we can start.”
He then noticed the replica moving to sit beside her and his glare hardened, “I do not recall a replica being a part of Organization Thirteen.”
The replica grinned back at him, one of the few not intimidated by the Beserker’s random fits of anger, “Oh I joined a while ago dude.”
“Enough of these childish antics, this is what our meeting is about. I have been much too lax on you all as of late. From now on I will be separating the pairings I can see blossoming under such foolish ideals. We are Nobodies- creatures without hearts and we cannot mock such a relationship in front of others so easily influenced.” He looked at Zexion, “Zexion, you will now be paired with Xaldin instead; Everden will accompany Vexen. Emily will join Xigbar and Kesani will be paired with Saix on his next mission.”
“WHA-” she picked up her head.
Zexion quickly grabbed Everden and covered her mouth. ”Silence yourself.”
She kept an angered look on her face as she glared at Vexen, “Dont anger me old man” She said in all seriousness “I dont want to be told how to do my job” She snuggled herself back up next to zexion, pressing closer as to saver the moment. Zexion pushing back.
Upon hearing this, Kesani’s eyes widened with worry and she glanced from Xemnas to Xigbar as if hoping for a better explanation. She was feeling uneasy now, hearing what sounded like punishment for her. “I don’t want to go with Saïx, Xig…” She said quietly to Xigbar.
“And I wouldn’t blame you for saying so, Sweetheart.” He rubbed her back reassuringly, trying to calm the anxiety that was already written all over her face. She gave a small smile. He nodded then to Xemnas. “So then, why are we being punished for your “bad parenting”? Seems a little unfair if you ask me, buddy.”
Xemnas glared at the older man, “Xigbar you seem to forget the chain of command and the concept of respect.” He heard Saix start growling low in his throat and he continued, “I do not parent, you are all adults and if what is currently scheduled is not working- I as a leader will change things until the missions get completed and everyone is not attempting to kill one another.”
Vexen looked at Everden with an disgusted expression, “I look forward to working with you too.” His voice dripped with venom. The Academic did slightly understand why Xemnas was doing this but was angered that it now involved himself being punished.
Saix tried to ignore Kesani’s obvious insult. He wasn’t deaf and heard the other neophytes had an extreme dislike for him despite that fact he did sometimes attempt to be…friendly. In his brain not killing them was friendly enough.
Zexion watched intensely as Xemnas and Xigbar had their dispute.
Everden looked up at Vexen “Haha, same.” She smiled twirling Zexion’s hair listening to all the ruckus. “Where do you think our mission will be?” she respectfully asked Vexen. As to try to somewhat make amends. ”Hopefully not that hot place again” her tone sarcastic.
“I wonder where I will be going as well” Zexion interjected. As the two still stayed in the same position, zexion now crossing his arms tensely, leaning back more to get comfortable.
Everden giggled a bit, putting her mouth to Zexion ear ”you worri’n about me?” Sniffin dat hurr.
”no” He said harfully. As she giggled more playing it off. Knowing he was just hiding the truth. She wrapped her legs around him to lock him in place, and gave his cheek a lick. then snuggled back up to him. “Ima Never let go” She whispered in his ear.
Xigbar appeared to back off. He nodded as if agreeing with Xemnas’ statement. “Alright buddy, alright. You’re my boss, fair’s fair.” He gestured to the Superior. “But so, if we’re adults and all…why are you breaking us off into groups like we’re goin’ on a school field trip or something, huh?”
Kesani bit her bottom lip and began to play with her hair nervously.
“And,” Xigbar continued. “If we are all adults, I think we’re perfectly capable of choosing who we want to be with and where we want to go. Command us all you want, but stop making everything so damn personal.”
